PhilRailCon 2024: CALL FOR PAPERS
The Philippine Railway Conference is the Philippine Railways Institute’s premier annual event for networking and collaboration focused on research and training for the railway workforce, bringing together policy makers, industry leaders, as well as local and international experts to discuss the latest trends, best practices and development in the railway sector especially in its workforce.
This year, the 2nd Philippine Railway Conference 2024 formally opens its call for research paper submission with the theme, “Reinforcing Safety and Security in the Philippine Railway Sector”. It will be held on October 29-30, 2024 within Metro Manila, Philippines.
We invite researchers, practitioners, enthusiasts, consultants, the academe, the government authorities and international stakeholders to join and submit research abstracts focused on the following three sub-themes.
– People and Safety (Safety Culture, Best Practices, Human Factors, Railway safety analysis and risk assessment)
– Digital Transformation for Safety and Security
– Institutional Development (Railway Occupational Safety and Health [ROSH] Standards, Collaboration and Partnerships)
Submission Guidelines:
Papers must be original and should not have been previously published or currently under review by another conference/journal.
Submissions should adhere to the format of a scientific paper in this TEMPLATE LINK.
Papers should be submitted electronically through the philrailcon.pri@gmail.com by the deadline.
The submission must include a title, abstract (300-500 words), keywords, and the main body of the paper. If the study is still ongoing, the manuscript submission must include only sections up to and including the Methodology section.
Authors are encouraged to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and ethics in their submission.
Important Dates:
Abstract submission deadline: 15 May 2024
Notification of acceptance: 14 June 2024
Full paper submission deadline: 31 July 2024
Conference dates: 29-30 October 2024
Review Process:
Submissions will undergo a peer review process by the Scientific Committee of the Philippine Railway Conference
Reviewers will evaluate submissions based on relevance, originality, technical quality, and clarity.
Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection by the notification date.
Publication Opportunities:
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings of the PhilRailCon and may be considered for publication in a special issue of the Philippine Transportation Journal.
Conference Presentation:
Authors of accepted papers will be expected to present their work at the conference.
Presentation guidelines will be provided to authors upon acceptance.
Registration:
At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference by the registration deadline to ensure inclusion in the program. Registration to the conference will be announced in July 2024.
